Tonight’s the night, and that only means one thing - the Nightcrawlers are running wild!

In Nightcrawlers, you play as kindred - punk monsters who live right under humanity’s nose. To survive the night and make rent, you’ll have to go up against monster hunters, government agents, street gangs, rival factions, and beings who want to destroy reality as we know it.

Nightcrawlers includes:

  • Easy to understand rules based on The Black Hack by David Black
  • Ten different playable kindred - from vampires and werewolves to ghosts and demons
  • Humanity mechanics designed to reward instead of punish
  • Fifty supernatural powers to give you an edge up on the competition
  • Freeform magick for the ritualists in all of us
  • A dozen random tables to populate your dark city

What are you waiting for? Grab some friends, some dice, your favorite grunge album, and a bat covered in barbed wire - the Underground is dying to tear you apart!

Tanner, I took the fillable character sheets and prefilled the HD, skills, and drawbacks. I've uploaded these to RPGG where I created a page for your game. However, the admin over there would like for me to check with you about uploading these prefilled character sheets there. Is that okay with you? I have a "GM Screen", really just a cheatsheet, I'd like to also share there. Would that be okay as well? I can send both of these items to you if you would like to see them first.

Got a physical copy from Exalted Funeral and absolutely love the aesthetic and all the tables which provide great inspiration. Keep up the great work and can’t wait for the extras referenced in the design diaries!

I did a review of this fun game! It's perfect for Halloween!

I just picked up Nightcrawlers in print from Exalted Funeral. It looks great! Can’t wait to try it out.

The last Design Diary update was interesting, I hope there’s more on the way. The Mummy and Jekyll and Hyde Mutant Brood sound really interesting, fingers crossed they show up again someday, especially the Mummy.

P.S. Thanks for the free optional rules. :D

I ran this last night as a just-after-Halloween one-shot for my group. Aided by the many excellent random tables, the crew (an Appalachian prepper werewolf, an Instagram influencer gillman, and - well - basically the ghost of Mike Tyson) went to the Tommyknockers club to watch their favorite band, Paradise Instinct, but the set was interrupted by a scuffle with the gutterpunk vamp gang the Teeth, resulting in a werewolf freak-out by local drunk Dixie Dave (a total poser, btw - he's actually from Boston). When the dust cleared, lead singer Tina Thorn (a demon) realized her phone had been stolen by her ex-boyfriend (local slacker and vampire Eddie Powers), which was a real problem since she'd left a voice memo on the phone containing her true name! Also stolen were the band's equipment for their next gig. Luckily the crew was able to locate Eddie and the Teeth (with the help of some improvised palmistry) and splattered him and his freaky friends, including a scary tentacle-extruding "holehead" who seemed to be running a ceremony to summon or bind Tina using her stolen stage costume. They were all able to make it back to Tommyknockers in time to deliver the equipment so the band could make it onto the Magic Bus - a roving semi-magical double-decker bus/club - and the group received the best reward of all: free tickets to the show!

Everything above was inspired by or came directly from the many random tables in the book; but it was also super easy to improv because of the strong theme that oozes, seeps, and splatters from every word and illustration. The layout is excellent, and every two-page spread contains the complete rules for that component of the game - combat, equipment, etc. A joy to read and use at the table.

Dudes! You should play this game!

Wow, sounds like you had a blast! I'm glad you got all my intention from the book - what you pulled out is the exact mood I wanted. Thanks for playing, and I hope you have a ton more gigs!

Purchased!

Hello!  Became aware of this game through an advertisement from Exalted Funeral that it's set to go on sale there this Friday.  In the meantime, I've downloaded the demo version on this site.  I notice that some of the tables towards the end of the book have lots of blank entries.  Are these fully fleshed out in the (expected) retail release, or are these intentional blank spaces for the GMs to write in their own npcs, gangs, etc.?

They are fully fleshed out on the final version!

Hi Tanneryea - that is heartening news - thank you!  Is the final version presently for sale in digital format where I can immediately acquire it?  Or is the Exalted Funeral print version that is scheduled to release tomorrow the exclusive sales venue for the final version?  Many thanks - and nice work!

I am waiting for EF to put the print copy on sale before I release the digital versions of the final game - so they will be up tomorrow. It will be available on the Exalted Funeral store, DriveThruRPG, and here on my itch page, so you get your choice of storefront.

Edit: I will say EF is the only place you can purchase a PHYSICAL copy. The rest are digital

That's great news...I'm undecided on print or digital...but I'm definitely getting a copy tomorrow, either way!  Cheers!

The game is now out for full purchase! Exalted Funeral is also doing a Halloween sale where you can get the physical and PDF copy for just $12

Y'all...Tanner is really passionate on this game. Watching it evolve has been a hoot. Download it, maybe toss some support his way.
